Join beloved LS Theater teacher Cherie Gallian for one or more of these theater adventures:
Week 5: Scene studies: We will take the week to select scenes, create sets, design costumes, find props, and act out those scenes from beloved plays including Alice in Wonderland, Where the Wild Things Are, The Wizard of Oz, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Three Musketeers, Rip Van Winkle, Cinderella, Snow White, and more. (Grades 3-5)
Week 6: Explore fairytales, fables, folklore, and mythology through character creation, dramatic play, simple costume/scenery creation, easy reader’s theater, and puppetry. (Grades 1-3)
Week 7: The Ultimate Dress-Up Party! We will explore costume and fashion history using historical paper dolls, historical pictures, movie clips, and a real life dress-up party in the Waterford Theater costume collection. Each day, students will wear an outfit from home that can easily fit underneath the dress-up costumes (for example, leggings or shorts and a close fitting t-shirt or tank-top). We will take a lot of pictures and the students will create a memorable keepsake! (Grades 4-8)
