About SCUBA Explorers

Through a collaboration with Mrs. Modderman (current Class II Teacher), Neptune Divers, and Rowland Hall’s SummerWorks, we have arranged for children aged 8 and up in Classes III, IV, and V to have the opportunity to learn to SCUBA dive in the the safety of the nice warm pool at Neptune Divers. With low instructor ratios, Explorers will receive an SSI Explorer Manual, allowing them to understand even more about the underwater world. They will enjoy classroom activities, snacks and of course daily pool time in full SCUBA gear sized just for them. Explorers will learn how to help keep our Oceans clean through the Blue Oceans program, earning them a 4Oceans bracelet as they take the pledge to help Ocean Conservation efforts in their own way. Upon completion of this fun week of diving, they will receive their SCUBA Explorer rating, Snorkel Explorer Rating and Blue Oceans Specialty. There will be a celebratory activity on Friday. While this week is not designed to end with a SCUBA certification, it does provide these new little divers the opportunity to get their feet wet and participate in future Explorer activities as their interests allow. We will send you permission forms to fill out and bring to the camp. Transportation by Waterford bus.

Campers must be able to swim 12 meters without buoyancy aids.
