Learn about 3D modeling and 3D printing!
Find out how to bring a design idea into reality! Students will learn the fundamentals of 3D modeling, using SketchUp’s powerful but intuitive online platform. Then, in the afternoons, they will use the school’s 80-Watt laser cutter to produce those designs. The applications for 3D modeling are seemingly limitless, but some of the areas we will investigate are architectural models, engineering, fabrication, game design, and 3D printing. At the end of the course, students will be able to accurately model in both 2D and 3D, apply appropriate units and scales, and render surfaces to create realistic models. They will also discuss how to continue to develop and apply this skill in their own areas of personal interest after the course. Before and After Care available at registration.
